The City of Palo Alto’s Utilities Engineering Division is replacing, upgrading, and/or undergrounding the following electric, water, gas, wastewater facilities in your neighborhood. More specific information is found under each major Capital Improvement Project (CIP). These are not all the CIP projects the Utilities Department has under construction. Electric Distribution Voltage Conversion (4,160V to 12,470V) Park Boulevard Area The City of Palo Alto Utilities Department (CPAU) will be upgrading the electric distribution system voltage from 4,160 Volt (4 kV) to 12,470 V in the area bounded by Chestnut Avenue, Park Boulevard, El Camino Real, and the Palo Alto/Mountain View City limits.
